Title: What is gaming? ― A study based on education and research on energy systems ―

The presenter has been exploring the meaning to model this world as games and the advantage of gaming compared with other modeling method through education and research works targeting energy systems. This presentation show a tentative answer to the above questions based on the findings from past works; the evaluation of learning effect of a class adopting power source selection game, a review of research using games in the field of Sustainability Science, and experimental research focusing on the energy conversion. The gaming can represent the challenges in a complex world considering their complexity and can pick up on previously overlooked possibilities for the future by modeling the dynamic interactions between the objective structure of the world and the subjective experience of humans.
