Title: Behavioral Genetics Today: Theory, Knowledge, and Its Social Scientific Evolvement
Abstract:
Behavioral genetics is a powerful scientific method that not only allows for evaluating the effects of heredity on individual differences in inherited traits but also for analyzing the effects that are not ordinarily possible, such as the effects of heredity and the environment on the correlations between multiple traits, as well as the interaction between heredity and the environment. In this presentation, the presenter will describe the leading methods used in behavioral genetics today and the knowledge accumulated in the field thus far. The presenter will also discuss the role behavioral genetics can play in the social sciences such as economics and sociology, and will discuss some of the latest promising research.
