For our 15th international workshop, we invited Dr. Samuel Bowles (Santa Fe Institute; University of Siena) to give a talk on the relationships among parochialism, altruism, and multi-level selection. Following the talk, participants discussed with Dr. Bowles his forthcoming book "A Cooperative Species: Human Reciprocity and its Evolution" in collaboration with Dr. Herbert Gintis (Santa Fe Institute). Enthusiastic discussion lasted for about three hours.
