The second workshop of CEFOM/21 took place on December 27th, 2002. The first workshop focused primarily on the goals of the center and an overview of the projects. In the second workshop, we discussed more concrete research topics, such as heuristics invoked in social exchange settings, and the problems with the use of self-construal scale commonly used in cultural psychology. To discuss these issues from a sociological perspective, we invited three prominent sociologists who specialize in rational choice theory and evolutionary psychology: Professor Whitmeyer (Department of Sociology , University of North Carolina, USA), Professor Hopcroft (Department of Sociology , University of North Carolina, USA), and Professor Kanazawa (Department of Psychology, University of Canterbury, New Zealand).
